The mini pantry movement is a grassroots, crowdsourced solution to immediate and local needs

(Rising Sun, Ind.) - The First United Church of Christ (First UCC) in Rising Sun today announced a new Little Free Pantry has been installed behind the church on 5th Street. The mini pantry movement is a grassroots, crowdsourced solution to immediate and local needs. Whether a need for food or a need to give, mini pantries help neighbors feed neighbors, nourishing neighborhoods. It is a designated, easily accessible space for donation of food, hygiene, and paper products.
“The Little Free Pantry offers a new way for our neighbors in Rising Sun and Ohio County to give what they can and take what they need.” says Lane Siekman. Pastor at First UCC.
If you are a neighbor who wants to help, give what you can. Focus giving on items your own household uses. If you are a neighbor in need, take what you need. Any items inside are available, no questions asked.
The new Little Free Pantry will be available starting immediately. For more information on the Little Free Pantry or the church, please visit risingsunucc.org.
