Firefighters Act Quickly In Extinguishing Sunday Fire

By Travis Thayer (Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – The Lawrenceburg Fire Department acted promptly in putting out a fire this past weekend. According to a news release, Lawrenceburg firefighters were dispatched to a fire on the 200 block of Short Street on Sunday. Firefighters had to force entry into the building and stretch a hose line to the second floor of the apartment building where the blaze originated. The fire was under control within 15 to 20 minutes. A cause of the fire has not been determined at this time. No injuries were reported. Lawrenceburg Fire were assisted at the scene by Lawrenceburg Police, Lawrenceburg Emergency Rescue, Greendale Fire, Aurora Fire and Lawrenceburg Municipal Utilities. Bright Fire dealt with a fire of their own on Sunday. A chimney fire was reported around 11:45 p.m. on Berne Court in Hidden Valley Lake. Firefighters responded quickly and contained the fire before it could cause serious problems. No injuries were reported.
