(Dillsboro, Ind.) – The Town of Dillsboro is welcoming a new police officer to the Dillsboro Police Department.

Kevin Turner is joining the Dillsboro Police Department after 20 years of service with Greendale Police, where he most recently served as Patrol Sergeant, investigator, and trainer.

For Turner, it is a move closer to home.

“I am extremely excited about serving in the community in which I live” says Turner. “I will have more contact time with family and more opportunities to serve on the Fire Department. This is such a blessing for this job to be offered at the time I was able to retire.”

Outside of his duties as a police officer, Turner is a member of the Dearborn County Council, the Emergency Management Advisory Board, Sons of Legion at Dillsoboro Northcutt-Laaker Post 292, Chairman of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, a lieutenant on the Dillsboro Volunteer Fire Department, Emergency Medical Responder, and CPR instructor.

Turner also keeps busy by officiating IHSAA certified football, soccer, basketball, and swimming competitions.
