(Harrison, Oh.) - Preliminary work will get under way this week for a bridge rehabilitation project on Dry Fork Road over Interstate 74 in the city of Harrison.
During the 2026 construction season, contractors for the city and the Ohio Department of Transportation will be widening the bridge over I-74 to add turn lanes at the I-74 on-ramps, constructing a sidewalk along the bridge, widening the westbound I-74 off-ramp, and rebuilding the traffic signals at the ramps.
Site preparations will begin Wednesday, February 18, with clearing and grubbing along the exit ramps of I-74 East and West at Dry Fork Road. Crews will be working as weather permits, and traffic on the ramps, as well as on Dry Fork Road and I-74 will be maintained.
During much of the project, though, Dry Fork Road will be closed, and motorists will be detoured by way of Harrison and West roads. The ramps will also be subject to closure at various times during construction, but these closures will not be concurrent. A schedule for any of the closures has yet to be outlined.
The Eagle Bridge Company was awarded a contract in the amount of $8.25 million to complete the project, and all work is scheduled to be completed in November 2026.
