Dooley Remains In Jail On $1 Million Bond As He Awaits Retrial

By Travis Thayer  David Dooley (Boone County, Ky.) – Bond reduction has been denied for a previously-convicted murderer who is set for retrial. David Dooley was sentenced to life in 2014 after a jury found him guilty of the 2012 murder of co-worker Michelle Mockbee at the Florence warehouse where they each worked. However, a scandal in the Boone County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office helped lead to that conviction being overturned. The murder case is now being prosecuted by the Kentucky Attorney General’s Office. On September 20, Dooley’s attorneys asked that their client be released to home incarceration, or that his bond be reduced to $10,000. That request was denied on Thursday, and Dooley’s bond remains at $1 million. Dooley is scheduled for a pre-trial conference on October 18.
