(Ohio County, Ind.) - Ohio County signed on to Dolly Parton's Imagination Library in 2007 to give children in the community the opportunity to learn to love reading at a young age.
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by gifting books free of charge to children from birth to age five.

Inspired by her father’s inability to read and write, Dolly started her Imagination Library in 1995 for the children within her home county. Today, her program spans five countries and gifts millions of free books each month to children around the world.
You can make a donation in honor of Dolly to support the Ohio County Imagination Library. Check or money orders can be sent to the Ohio County Community Foundation, PO Box 170, Rising Sun, IN 47040 or stop by the office at 330 Industrial Access Drive, Rising Sun. Donations can also be made online by selecting the Ohio County program on https://donate.imaginationlibrary.com/.
"While our hearts are incredibly sad today, we’re more inspired than ever to continue this important mission. Together, we are building a brighter future for our children. Thank you for supporting our work and Dolly’s legacy," reads a statement from the OCCF.
