Donate Your Bags, Purses To Help Safe Passage Inc.

That gently used purse collecting dust in your closet could help a southeastern Indiana domestic violence victim.

(Batesville, Ind.) - Gently used handbags are needed to help Safe Passage Inc. clients.

Safe Passage Inc. community outreach and communications director Mary Mattingly says the seventh annual Handbags 4 Hope brunch auction by the Community Church of Batesville is being held at the Batesville High School cafeteria on August 10. Over 50 new and gently used brand name handbags often stuffed with local gift certificates and other items are featured in the silent auction.

Proceeds will go towards helping Safe Passage clients with direct needs, such as housing deposits, fuel vouchers, food at the shelter, and many more services. Tables of up to six can be reserved with tickets costing $8.

Donations may be dropped off at the Batesville shelter, or arrangements can be made for the satellite offices in Madison, Brookville, Greendale or Vevay by calling (812) 933-1990.
