Do you know a Dearborn County resident who has given a lot back to their community? Consider nominating them for the Dearborn Community Foundation’s annual Heart of Gold Awards.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - The Dearborn Community Foundation, Inc., (DCF) is accepting nominations for the prestigious Heart of Gold Awards that recognize folks in the Dearborn County community who touch the hearts of others through their volunteerism and other acts of kindness.
Dearborn County residents who give of themselves unselfishly to serve others, collectively or individually, with volunteer acts above and beyond their profession are eligible to be nominated, said Fred McCarter, DCF Executive Director. Past Heart of Gold recipients are not eligible. It’s also important to note that nominations should not be submitted by family members.
“This is a great opportunity to recognize volunteers that make a difference in our community and at the same time encourage philanthropy,” McCarter said.

A DCF selection committee will choose Heart of Gold recipients from the nominations received by 4 p.m., Tuesday, August 6, 2019. Each Heart of Gold recipient will be recognized at a dinner event in mid-October. These honorees will have the privilege of serving on the Heart of Gold Committee to recommend grants to non-profit organizations that serve Dearborn County residents.
Heart of Gold recipients have been recognized for helping senior citizens or disadvantaged persons, working to improve the quality of education, expanding recreational or cultural opportunities, working with children, protecting the environment, promoting public safety and unusual acts of kindness.
