(Dearborn County, Ind.) – A Dearborn County man has been arrested and charged with Child Solicitation.
Byron Caudill, 47, was taken into custody January 20 on a warrant for parole violation.
Caudill, who resided in West Harrison at the time of his arrest, came under investigation on January 19 when the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office reviewed a Facebook video posted by a private organization.
The video showed Caudill being confronted by Predator Catchers Indianapolis outside a Walmart in Anderson, Indiana – where he allegedly admitted to communication with a boy believed to be 14 years of age and traveling to that location to meet for sexual acts.
Detectives say Caudill used the Grindr app and text messaging during these communications.
He is charged with once count of Child Solicitation (Level 4 Felony).
At his initial hearing in Dearborn Superior Court 1, Judge Jonathan Cleary set a $3 million cash bond.
“I appreciate the information shared by the public that helped bring this case to light,” said Sheriff Shane McHenry. “The Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office also thanks Indiana State Police with their assistance with the investigation.”
