DCH Birthing Center Sponsors Dearborn Co. 4-H Fair Baby Contest June 21

Press release by Dearborn County Hospital  (Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - The Birthing Center of Dearborn County Hospital will sponsor the Dearborn County 4-H & Community Fair Baby Contest on Wednesday, June 21, on the Haag Ford Stage at the Dearborn County Fairgrounds in Lawrenceburg. Contest entry fees for the Baby Contest have been covered by Dearborn County Hospital since 2001.  In addition, fair gate admission (ride fees not included) for one parent/guardian and the baby contestant also are free.  Additional family members will be charged the $8 gate admission fee, which includes rides. There are no residency requirements for the contest and babies from newborns through 18 months of age are eligible to enter.  Contestants must wear a white “onesie” or a white diaper/white T-shirt and have no hair decorations.  Babies are judged on personality, appearance and attentiveness.  Registration is from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. with judging beginning promptly at 7:00 p.m. The winning boy and girl will each be awarded a trophy and a $150 savings account at the Dearborn County Hospital Federal Credit Union, provided courtesy of the Dearborn County Hospital Birthing Center. Categories will be:  Class A, twins up to and including 18 months; Class B, triplets up to and including 18 months; Class C, girls up to and including 6 months; Class D, boys up to and including 6 months; Class E, girls 7 through 12 months; Class F, boys 7 through 12 months; Class G, girls 13 through 18 months; and Class H, boys 13 through 18 months. Babies receiving first through fourth place in each of the eight age and gender categories will also receive cash prizes and ribbons.  Prizes will be as follows: first place, $25 and a ribbon; second place, $20 and a ribbon; third place, $15 and a ribbon; and fourth place, $10 and a ribbon.  The same prizes will be awarded for multiple birth categories if twins or triplets are registered in the contest.  Door prizes will also be awarded courtesy of DCH Physician Partners.
