(Aurora, Ind.) - South Dearborn Community School Corporation is proud to announce the appointment of Daniel Fix as the next Assistant Principal of South Dearborn Middle School.

Fix brings more than a decade of educational experience, a strong background in student engagement, and a passion for fostering positive learning environments. His commitment to student success, relationship-building, and school leadership will make him a valuable addition to the South Dearborn Middle School team.

A graduate of South Ripley High School, Fix continued his education at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Physical Education and Health Education. After five years in the classroom, he pursued and completed a master's degree in Educational Leadership, further preparing himself for a career in school administration.

Fix spent the past 11 years serving students at Milan Community Schools. During his tenure, he taught elementary swimming and physical education, as well as middle school health and physical education. Beyond the classroom, he coached track and field, swimming, and soccer, helping students develop confidence, teamwork, and perseverance through athletics.

Throughout his career, Fix has demonstrated a student-centered approach to education, focusing on building strong relationships and creating opportunities for all students to succeed. His experiences as both an educator and coach have equipped him with the leadership skills necessary to support students, staff, and families at South Dearborn Middle School.

“Daniel’s passion for students, his leadership experience, and his commitment to building meaningful relationships make him an outstanding addition to our administrative team,” said Superintendent Dr. Ron Ross. “He understands the importance of creating a positive school culture where students feel supported and challenged to achieve their best. We are excited to welcome him to South Dearborn and look forward to the impact he will have on our middle school.”

Fix expressed enthusiasm about joining the South Dearborn community and becoming part of the district's continued success.

“I am very excited to be joining the South Dearborn School Corporation,” said Fix. “I look forward to meeting the staff, students, and families of South Dearborn Middle School. I am honored to have the opportunity to serve this community and help continue
the growth and success of SDMS.”

Fix and his wife have two children. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, playing board games, participating in sports, running, fishing, and cheering on the Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Pacers.
