Sheriff Shane McHenry says some staff and several inmates have tested positive for the virus.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – A COVID-19 outbreak has been reported at the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center.
Sheriff Shane McHenry said in a statement Friday that some employees and several inmates have tested positive for COVID-19.
“I would like to assure everyone that we are proactively dealing with this problem and doing everything we can to take care of our staff and the inmates,” said McHenry.
McHenry added that the spread of COVID-19 into the jail was inevitable and that the Sheriff’s Office has been fortunate it took this long to happen.
“I appreciate everyone’s patience during this time and couldn’t be more proud of my staff for all the extra work they have put in addressing this serious issue.”
