A couple from Indianapolis were injured in the crash near Metamora on Saturday.

(Indianapolis, Ind.) - An Indianapolis couple were injured when their motorcycle hit a guardrail on U.S. 52 in Franklin County on Saturday, May 18.
Mark Malott, 59, was operating the Kawasaki motorcycle on a curve on U.S. 52 near Metamora when Malott lost control of the bike and went off the roadway, according to the Franklin County. The motorcycle hit a guardrail, ejecting Malott and his passenger, Elaine Malott, 59.
Each of the Malotts were flown from the scene to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. Their current conditions have not been released.
Deputies say neither rider was wearing a helmet.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by the Laurel Police Department, Laurel and Metamora Volunteer Fire Departments, Franklin County E.M.S. #2 and #3, and Responder 24.
