Convergys To Layoff Nearly 100 Employees

By Travis Thayer (Erlanger, Ky.) – A Cincinnati-based global customer-service management provider is set to cut nearly 100 jobs in northern Kentucky. Convergys Corp.’s Erlanger facility is expected to lay off more than 94 employees in late July. The company filed a notice with the Kentucky Career Center last Thursday that one of its five programs will run through the end of April. The closure is a result of a change in the business process for one of the clients Convergys serves in the area. Employees in good standing with the company will have an opportunity to apply for other positions in Erlanger and work-at-home opportunities. Laid off employees may also be placed in another program. Convergys has more than 125,000 employees in 22 states and 31 countries. The Erlanger facility along Interstate 275 will end up with roughly 250 employees after the July layoffs.
