(Hamilton County, Oh.) - In preparation for resurfacing, crews will be conducting full-depth concrete repairs along eastbound I-74 this weekend.

The work will require a single-lane closure beginning Friday, August 21 at 7:00 p.m.

Friday-Monday, August 21-24:

  • Single-lane (left lane) closure on I-74 East, between the S.R. 128 and Rybolt Road/Harrison Avenue interchanges, beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, August 21.

  • Closure of the ramp from I-275 South to I-74 East, beginning at 10 p.m. Friday. Motorists may detour by way of I-275 South/I-74 West and the S.R. 128 interchange to I-275 North/I-74 East.
  • All restrictions will be lifted by 5 a.m. Monday, August 24.

The I-74 resurfacing project extends from just west of the S.R. 128 interchange at Miamitown to the Rybolt Road/Harrison Avenue interchange. In addition to paving the interstate, the project includes minor bridge work such as deck sealing, expansion joint repairs, and drilling of fatigue cracks on the structures within the project limits, as well as on the West and New Haven Road bridges that carry traffic over I-74.

Barrett Paving Materials, Inc. was awarded a contract in the amount of $9.58 million to complete the project, and while paving is anticipated to begin by mid-September, all work is scheduled to be completed in early November.
