(Guilford, Ind.) – One person was arrested after a police standoff in Guilford over the weekend.
The Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic altercation on Saturday in the area of Heritage Trail.
Upon arrival, officers were unable to locate the suspect, Michael Malloni. He was eventually located laying behind a landscape bed and possessed what appeared to be a barrel of a gun pointed directly at a responding officer, according to a news release.
Malloni was given multiple commands to show his hands and allegedly did not comply.
Upon the arrival of additional officers, a flashbang was used, and an Indiana State Trooper deployed his taser to incapacitate Malloni. At that time, an unloaded handgun was removed near Malloni.
Malloni is charged with Domestic Battery (Class A Misdemeanor), Pointing an Unloaded Firearm (Class A Misdemeanor) and Resisting Law Enforcement (Class A Misdemeanor).
Additional charges are being reviewed.
Malloni made his initial appearance on Monday. His bond was set at $50,000 cash only.
