(Ripley County, Ind.) - The Career Exploration Expo, hosted by Genesis: Pathways to Success and in partnership with Ripley County’s local high schools and a homeschool co-op, was a success, welcoming 850 high school juniors and seniors on September 8th. Students from across the county had the opportunity to engage with a dynamic lineup of 32 local businesses, 17 colleges, 5 military recruiters, and 7 inspiring entrepreneurs. Through hands-on activities and one-on-one conversations, the Expo opened doors to a wide range of career pathways.

With interactive booths showcasing potential career fields and informative presentations on college admissions and the workforce, the event provided a comprehensive overview of the diverse career paths available after high school. The Career Exploration Expo provides meaningful, experiential experiences, differentiating it from other events across the state. Students explored a variety of hands-on activities, allowing them to experience everything from writing a check to learning how to use a hammer. Local employers from manufacturing, healthcare, education, and technology sectors were present, offering insights into the skills and qualifications needed for success in the workforce. Military recruiters provided a showcase of the benefits of military service, showing a viable option for students to serve their country while developing career skills and advancing their education.

“I would have to say my favorite part of the Career Exploration Expo was that I learned something crucial about my college, and I got to spend time learning about my friends' careers too,” stated a local student attending the Career Expo. Students left the Expo feeling empowered and excited about their future career paths, armed with new knowledge and connections to help them as they move forward in their educational and professional journeys.

The Career Exploration Expo will return to Ripley County again in the Fall of 2026. Genesis: Pathways to Success would like to thank Batesville High School, Jac-Cen-Del High School, Milan High School, Oldenburg Academy, Mother of Mercy High School Co-Op, and South Ripley High School for attending the Career Exploration Expo.
