(Aurora, Ind.) – The next ‘Fill the Pool’ fundraising event happens this weekend in Aurora.

The City of Aurora will host the Splish Splash Car Wash on Saturday, May 15 and Sunday, May 16 at Aurora City Park.

Festivities will begin Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with a special ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly installed playground equipment.

The event will continue until 6:00 p.m. each day, featuring a free will donation car wash, prize giveaways, live music, bounce houses for the kids, two demonstration disc golf holes, and a chance to dunk your favorite City official in the dunk tank.

Food and beverages will be provided by Smokin BBQ, Plugs Sweet Tooth, Queen Bean and Amanda’s Mobile Diner. A beer and wine garden will also be on hand.

Several local vendors will be there too, including Car Country, Dayz Metal Works, and Main Street Aurora, among others.

All the proceeds from the event will benefit the Fill the Pool fundraiser.

The City has agreed to finance $2.5 million towards a project to revitalize the City Pool. However, the City believes $2.5 million will not be enough to fully fund the project. Therefore, a fundraising goal of one million dollars has been set.

The "Dream Pool" as it has been called, would feature lap lanes capable of hosting outdoor swimming events, water volleyball court, slide, zero entry section with a play feature for children, heating element to extend the pool season into the early spring and late fall, two-way concession stand for park and pool patrons, public Wi-Fi, and more.
