(Switzerland County, Ind.) - Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Force Construction Company plans to begin work as early as Monday, October 31, at the S.R. 156 bridge over Log Lick Creek in Switzerland County. The bridge is located west of Markland Dam and will be reduced to one lane with temporary traffic signals through next fall for a superstructure replacement project.
Prior to work beginning on the S.R. 156 bridge, S.R. 56 is scheduled to reopen just east of Spring Branch Road. The road closed in early October to allow crews to complete a box culvert replacement project.
Completed work on the $5.5 million rehabilitation contract includes a bridge replacement on S.R. 56 over Lost Fork Creek in Jefferson County. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, avoid distractions, and consider worker safety when traveling through active construction zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
