(Carroll County, Ky.) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of an upcoming bridge inspection on the Interstate 71 bridges over the Kentucky River in Carroll County beginning Tuesday, Sept. 23. These inspections are critical to ensuring the infrastructure remains safe to use for years to come.
Crews will be working on the I-71 southbound and northbound bridges over the Kentucky River at the 44 mile marker. This work will take place between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and will include a single right lane closure during working hours.
Tentative Schedule
- Tuesday, Sept. 23: I-71 southbound bridge over Kentucky River
- Wednesday, Sept. 24: I-71 northbound bridge over Kentucky River.
Motorists should plan ahead and anticipate delays due to the inspection. Please drive carefully through the work zone to keep our crews safe.
Weather permitting, the bridge inspections are expected to be completed Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 4:30 p.m.
Project schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
