Boone Co. Deputy Named Region 4 School Resource Officer of the Year

(Boone County, Ky.) - Sheriff Les K. Hill is proud to announce that the Kentucky Association of School Resource Officers (KYASRO) has awarded Deputy Scott Menefee as this year’s Region 4 School Resource Officer of the Year.

Deputy Menefee is assigned to Jones Middle School, and his work is vital in ensuring a safe environment for both students and staff alike. SROs are more than just school security; they build trust throughout the school community and serve in a wide variety of critical roles.

Deputy Menefee is especially selfless in his service at Jones Middle School and has truly earned this award.

Deputy Menefee was nominated by Jones Middle School Principal Stacy Park and will receive the award at the annual Safe Schools and Communities Conference on June 9, 2026, located at Great Crossing High School in Georgetown, Kentucky
