Batesville Main Street Names New Executive Director

A Meet and Greet will be held this week.

(Batesville, Ind.) - Batesville Main Street has announced the hiring of Rebekah Porter as the organization's next Executive Director. 

Porter will lead the organization and continue its efforts to strengthen and promote downtown Batesville through community engagement, business support, events, communications and strategic initiatives. 

"Rebekah brings an exciting combination of professional experience, creativity, community connections, and passion to Batesville Main Street," said Blaine Timonera, Chairsperson of the Batesville Main Street Board of Directors. "Her background in nonprofit fundraising, communications, marketing, event planning, and organizational development will be a tremendous asset as we continue working to strengthen downtown Batesville and support our local businesses and community partners." 

Porter most recently served as a Prevention Specialist and Youth Educator with New Directions of Decatur County. She is familiar with the Batesville community and downtown having also served as a Creative Content Intern with Genesis Patthways to Success in Batesville. 

"I am excited for the opportunity to combine my nonprofit experience, communications background and familiarity with Batesville in a position focused on strengthening the downtown community," Porter said. "I look forward to working alongside local businesses, volunteers, residents, and community leaders while helping continue the positive momentum and growth of downtown Batesville. 

A Meet & Greet with Porter will be held on Friday, September 25 in the Amack's Conference Room from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. Coffee and pastries will be provided..
