Batesville Lights Community Tree On Dec. 6

The City of Batesville is celebrating their 10th Annual Community Tree Lighting and Holiday Parade this year.

(Batesville, Ind.) – The City of Batesville is celebrating their 10th Annual Community Tree Lighting and Holiday Parade this year.

Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce and Batesville Main Street will be co-hosting the event with the City of Batesville.

On Friday, December 6, festivities will be held in downtown Batesville starting at 5 PM.  

Santa’s Village will feature Santa and his reindeer, carriage rides, food and crafts, Elfie Selfies, and roasted marshmallows. Festive music will be performed by choirs from Batesville Intermediate, Middle and High Schools, and Miss Shannon’s Studio.

The Batesville Area Historical Society will be open from 5-8 PM to feature their All-Aboard! Train exhibit.

Many family-friendly activities will be available throughout the evening including downtown business specials.

The Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce Toyland Parade will begin at 6 PM.

Starting at the Batesville Memorial Pool, the parade will follow the path of turning left onto George Street, left onto Main Street, right onto Boehringer, right on Park Avenue and will conclude at Santa’s Village on George Street.

Santa will leave his sleigh to greet the children before joining Mayor Mike Bettice on stage for the tree lighting approximately at 7 PM.

The 25 ft. Canaan Fir tree was donated by Joe Schneider of Sunman.

Following the tree lighting at 7:15 PM, the Gibson Theatre will offer a free showing of Frozen II courtesy of the Batesville Kiwanis.

“Be sure to get to downtown early to experience all that is offered at this wonderful Christmas event while getting a great spot for the parade and the Tree Lighting,” said Mayor Bettice.

This event is presented by the Batesville Beautification League, Batesville Mayor’s Youth Council, Batesville Main Street, Chamber of Commerce and City of Batesville.

Sponsors include Enneking Auto Body, Meyer Rentals, Rowland Graphics, WRBI, LaRosa’s, Skyline Chili, Pro-Prints, The Batesville Herald-Tribune, Friendship State Bank, Batesville Kiwanis, and St. Andrews Health Campus.
