U.S. 50-River Road is closed in the area and residents are being asked to shelter in place due to smokey conditions.

CINCINNATI – A portion of U.S. 50 is closed due to a barge fire on the Ohio River.
Cincinnati Police and other agencies responded to the scene in the 5400 block of River Road in Sayler Park just before 5:00 p.m.
All pedestrian and vehicular traffic is closed, and area residents are being asked to shelter in place.
According to Cincinnati Fire and EMS, residents within a half-mile of the fire should shelter in place and turn off their HVAC systems. The situation has caused very smoky conditions but there are no other hazards or chemicals other than smoke from the fire.
No injuries have been reported.
