Bill and Peggy Stephenson

(Aurora, Ind.) – New details are emerging in the slaying of an Aurora woman, connecting her death to that of a Florence couple.
WLWT-TV reports the murder of Leigh Jennings, 67, in her Aspen Ridge Road apartment last week may be somehow connected to the murders of Bill and Peggy Stephenson.
The Stephensons, both age 74, were found murdered in their home on Ridge Edge Court in Florence on May 29, 2011. The case has gone unsolved without any arrests since.
WLWT cited sources in reporting that the Stephenson’s nephew, “Steve” Stephenson, attempted to commit suicide Monday. He survived the attempt, the television said.
“Steve” Stephenson knew Jennings, the report stated.
Jennings worked at Jim Young’s barber shop in Florence.
Indiana State Police Sgt. Noel Houze told Eagle 99.3 the information regarding the possible connection of the two murder cases did not come from the state police. He said no further information was being released at this time.
Eagle 99.3 received no immediate response to calls made to investigators with Aurora Police or the Boone County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday afternoon.
