Recent successes and the upcoming Fire Truck Pull were among the topics discussed

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Stars of from the recent 2026 Special Olympics USA Games joined Eagle Country 99.3 on Wednesday morning to talk about their success and to hype up the upcoming Fire Truck Pull. 

Chelsie was joined by Charlie Wilson and Kendra Franklin, who both brought home medals from the USA Games.

Franklin was a bronze, silver and gold medalist in swimming, while Wilson played goalkeeper on Team USA's gold medal-winning soccer team.

Franklin just learned that she has been nominated to Team USA as a Level 2 Swimmer for the 2027 Special Olympics World Games in Santiago, Chile. she will travel to Pittsburgh to train alongside fellow nominees from across the country at Team USA Selection Camp, where the final roster for the 2027 Special Olympics World Games will be chosen.

Events like the annual Fire Truck Pull support area Special Olympic athletes with year-round training, necessary equipment, and travel to events. 

Registration is still available for the Fire Truck Pull, which takes place this Saturday, August 8 at Lawrenceburg Civic Park. Teams of up to 10 members will see who can pull a fully loaded fire truck 50 feet in the fastest time. Teams will then compete in the Lowest Combined Weight Pull. 

All teams are required to raise at least $750 to take part in the Fire Truck Pull.
