(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Caden McMullen is a budding songwriter, singer and guitarist.

He's also playing the lead for Lawrenceburg High School's Jobs for America’s Graduates program. The JAG program helps prepare at-risk junior and senior students with skills necessary to succeed in life after high school.

"A lot of the skills I have acquired through JAG I will implement through my music so I can use that as kind of a way to give back and help other people through my music the same way JAG helped me," the LHS senior says.

He performed one of his original songs titled "Indiana Skies" on Eagle Country 99.3 on Wednesday morning. It deals with the topic of mental health, which is Indiana JAG's state initiative this school year. Listen in the audio player below:

Caden credits a JAG public speaking event for helping to bring him out of his shell and give him more confidence.

Upon graduation from high school this coming spring, he plans to relocate to Los Angeles to pursue a music career.

Lawrenceburg High School JAG students are undertaking projects to bring more positivity to students and staff. A quarter auction on Monday, April 8 will raise funds to help teachers purchase supplies for their classrooms. Call (812) 655-1877 to donate items to the auction.
