Several area fire departments responded to the call on Tuesday afternoon.

(Versailles, Ind.) – Firefighters responded to an active fire alarm at a nursing home on Tuesday afternoon.
Fire broke out in the attic area at Silver Memories Nursing Home, just south of Versailles.
Versailles Firefighters assisted New Marion VFD in evacuating 25 residents from the facility. From there, Manderly Nursing Home and South Ripley School provided additional transportation for the residents to other facilities.
Versailles Fire Rescue says the fire was contained to the attic area, and no injuries were reported.
Assisting at the scene was Osgood VFD, Ripley County EMS, Napoleon VFD, Friendship VFD, Milan VFD, and the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office.
