During the 2012 session of the Indiana General Assembly, students throughout the state are invited to participate in the page program, making the Statehouse their classroom for the day. This experience includes a tour of the Capitol and an opportunity to be on the floor of the Senate chamber, where pages can meet, have their picture taken and deliver messages to their senators.
“The program offers a one-of-a-kind learning experience for Indiana students,” Nugent said. “Pages receive the opportunity to visit their Statehouse and interact with lawmakers, all while having a front-row seat to the legislative process.”
Students in grades six through 12 are invited to serve as pages on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout session, Nugent said.
