Where To Celebrate The 4th Of July In Eagle Country

There are plenty of choices.

Some will celebrate on the 4th, others will celebrate before or after Independence Day, but there are plenty of 4th of July events to choose from this year in Eagle Country. A full list of area Independence Day celebrations are listed below. If there is a 4th of July fireworks display in the area that is not listed please send the information to our Contact Us page.

 

INDIANA

Aurora – Red, White & Boom Fireworks at Lesko Park. The two-day event will take place at Lesko Park on Friday, June 29 and Saturday, June 30. Military equipment will be on display both days and free military vehicle rides will be available. On Friday, there will be a beer and wine booth, live music and a lighted boat parade. Saturday’s festivities include a car show, craft show, beer and wine booth, live music and fireworks at 10:00 p.m. Admission is free.

Batesville – The City of Batesville will celebrate Independence Day on Sunday, July 1 at Bill Gillespie Soccer Park. Attendees will enjoy a free concert by the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and fireworks at 8:00 p.m. Gates open at 4:00.

Brookville – Brookville Canoefest fireworks will take place Saturday, June 30 at 10:30 p.m. at the Franklin County Fairgrounds.

Greendale – Celebrate our Independence Day in Greendale on Wednesday, July 4. The day will start with the annual Greendale 4th of July 5K. Register online at www.stuartroadracing.com, then show up and run at 8:00 a.m. on the 4th. The Kids Fishing Derby will follow from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Schnebelt’s Pond. Registration begins at 8:00. Following the Fishing Derby, cool off at the Greendale Pool with free admission from noon-6:00 p.m., and don’t forget about the Kids Bike Parade from Oakey Park to the Greendale Cabin. Registration begins at 2:30 p.m. and the parade starts at 3:00. Fireworks by Starfire Productions will begin at dust at Greendale Park.  

Hidden Valley – The Independence Day Bike Parade at the Ballfields happens Wednesday, July 4 from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Fireworks over Hidden Valley Lake begin at dusk.  

Madison – The annual Clifty Falls Independence Celebration happens Saturday, July 7 at Clifty Falls State Park. The fireworks will start between 9:00- 9:15 p.m. The celebration will also include live music from 7:00-10:30 p.m. and food will be available for purchase at the grill or buffet from 7:00-10:00 p.m.

Metamora – The Metamora Volunteer Fire Department hosts its Independence Day Festival on Saturday, July 7 at the fire station. Festivities begin at 3:00 p.m. and include games, food, bounce house, beer garden and more. Fireworks begin at dusk.

Milan - The Milan 4th of July Celebration will be a two-day event. On Tuesday, July 3, area residents are invited to an Ice Cream Social at the Milan Baptist Church at 7:00 p.m. The annual Milan Lions Club Parade will take place the following day on Wednesday, July 4 at 10:00 a.m. Lineup starts at 8:00.

Rising Sun – The City of Rising Sun will celebrate Independence Day on Tuesday, July 3. Join the celebration along Front Street by Rising Sun Riverfront Park for fireworks over the Ohio River. Live music begins at 7:00 p.m. and food will be available from the Rising Sun Lions Club. Fireworks start at 10:00.  Additionally, a golf cart parade will take place beginning at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, 200 N Walnut Street and end at the riverfront on Front Street. Decorations will be available beginning at 6 pm for those that would like to assist in getting ready!  

Versailles – Fireworks are scheduled to begin at dusk on Saturday, July 7 at Versailles State Park Lake. Gate fees will apply until 7:00 p.m. After that time, donations will be accepted.

 

KENTUCKY

Burlington – The 13th Annual 4th For Our Soldiers Celebration takes place on Saturday, July 7 from 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. in the Arborwood Subdivison, 4600 block of Catalpa Court. Dinner is served at 6:15 (BBQ, hot dogs, hamburgers). Soda, water and beer will be provided. DV8 will provide live music from 6-10 p.m., and fireworks by Rozzi start at 10:15. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair. Suggested donation is $20 per person or $50 per family. Proceeds will help support grants and scholarships of military and first responder families who have had their lives affected by their parents’ service to our country and our communities.

Florence – The City of Florence will hold its Independence Day Celebration on Tuesday, July 3 from 4:00-11:00 p.m. at UC Health Stadium, the home of the Florence Freedom. Admission is free for the event and the Freedom game. There is a charge for rides and other activities.

Union – “Union Celebrates America” on Friday, June 28 from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. The event will include a parade along U.S. 42, music from the Wulfe Brothers Band, food vendors, beer from Braxton Brewery, and fireworks from Vito’s Fireworks at the DelMonde, Inc. Building, 10087 Old Union Road.

 

OHIO

Harrison – The City of Harrison will celebrate Independence Day on Tuesday, July 3 with a parade and fireworks. The 4th of July Parade will take off at 4:00 p.m. from the Community Center parking lot onto Broadway, to State Street, to Broadway and back to the Community Center – where family entertainment, food, drinks and free kids activities will be offered. Gen X will provide live music, and Fireworks by Rozzi will be shot off at dusk. No alcoholic beverages will be permitted on Community Center property.
