(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - On August 12, locals are banning together to kick off a new annual tradition called 812 Day. 812 Day is a celebration of community in the 812-area code on the 12th day of the 8th month.
Batesville Products started an 812 Day Facebook group, where 450+ members are sharing unique ways to celebrate 812 Day. Festivities include giving back to the community, acts of kindness, supporting local business, and appreciating the Southern Indiana scenery.
Here are some celebrations you can expect on 812 Day:

Multiple businesses in Southeast Indiana will make surprise $812 donations to community organizations of their choice.

Batesville Products (Lawrenceburg and Aurora) will make a surprise $812 donation and treat its employees to 812 Day shirts, printed by Impact Sports (Aurora), and a catered lunch, provided by D&G’s Homestyle Catering (Lawrenceburg).

Ross & Squibb Distillery (Lawrenceburg) employees will enjoy a corn hole tournament that collects food pantry donations, a company luncheon, and a t-shirt giveaway.

Weber Sports (Aurora) will donate 8.12% of sales made on August 12th.

Zelda Jean’s (St. Leon) will donate $8.12 to the community blessings box for every $40 in sales.

Auntie Anne’s Pretzel Truck will be at the Rising Sun/Ohio County Tourism parking lot (217 N. High Street, Rising Sun).
