(Rising Sun, Ind.) – One of the biggest car shows in southeast Indiana takes place this July.

The 27th Shiner Pride Show Your Pride Car Show will be held on Sunday, July 9 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. along the Ohio Riverfront in Rising Sun.

The show is organized by the Rising Sun Band Boosters with all proceeds going directly to the band department to benefit students in the Rising Sun band programs.

Funds raised are used to purchase uniforms, flags, equipment and fund the fall marching program.

According to event organizers, 70 percent of the marching season funds come from the annual car show and event funding from the City of Rising Sun which has been significantly cut over the 25 years the car show has operated.

So, funding is heavily reliant on community sponsorships.
