By Mike Perleberg Photo by Indiana State Excise Police (Dearborn County, Ind.) - Hundreds of brand name knock-offs have been confiscated from 11 stores across southeastern Indiana. A total of 2,262 imitation hats, sunglasses, shirts, and purses were seized by Indiana State Excise Police at stores in Dearborn, Franklin, Ohio, Ripley, Jennings and Union counties. Items seized bear unlicensed pro and college sports team logos or brand names like Ray-Ban, Under Armor, Monster, Michael Kors, and Gucci. The businesses where the merchandise was seized were cited administratively with a preliminary charge of Public Nuisance. Excise police will submit reports to the Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission’s prosecutor for review. The businesses include the following:

Dillsboro BP, 15313 US 50 Suite A, Dillsboro
Rainbow Food Mart, 5987 South State Road 101, Liberty
Delaware BP, 4900 North State Road 129, Osgood
North Vernon Mini Mart, 895 S. State St., North Vernon
Indiana State Excise Police said each business possesses a valid alcohol permit and tobacco sales certificate.
