(Versailles, Ind.) - A Versailles man was sentenced to prison time and probation after being convicted of fathering a child with an underage girl.
Justin Lee Whitham pleaded guilty to a charge of Sexual Misconduct with a Minor, a Class B felony, earlier in Ripley Circuit Court. The 31-year-old was sentenced last week to 18 years, with three years suspended to probation, according to the Osgood Journal.
Whitham fathered children with a woman he lived with and her juvenile daughter, who was just 15 at the time of the encounter in 2009.
Indiana State Police detectives at the Versailles Post investigated the case.
Whitham could be released from prison as early as October 17, 2017 according to the Indiana Department of Corrections.
As part of Whitham's sentence, he must also register as a sexual offender after his release.
