Switz. Co's Rose, Batesville's Amberger Qualify for Wrestling State Finals

Rose is the first Switzerland County wrestler to make it to state.

(New Castle, Ind.) - It was a tough weekend for the 35 wrestlers from southeastern Indiana that competed at the semi-state. 

Wrestlers from Batesville, East Central, Franklin County, Lawrenceburg, Milan, South Dearborn, and Switzerland County traveled to either New Castle or Evansville to try and punch their ticket to the State Finals. 

Of the 35 wrestlers from the area, two are heading to State. 

Switzerland County junior Gabe Rose placed 4th in the 144 pound weight class at the Evansville Semi-State. He will make a return visit to the Ford Center on Friday, February 16 for the first round of the State Finals - which is being held in Evansville for the first time ever.

Rose is the first Switzerland County wrestler to qualify for the state finals. 

He will be joined at State by Batesville senior Max Amburger, who placed 4th in the 285 pound weight class at the New Castle Semi-State.
