South Ripley Grad Leaves Hauser for New Coaching Gig

Trent Moorhead has a highly successful run at Hauser.

(Greenwood, Ind.) - Trent Moorhead has been announced as the next head varsity boys basketball coach at Center Grove High School. 

Moorhead comes to Center Grove after a highly successful run at Hauser, where he posted a 79-27 record over four seasons, including a 26-3 mark this past season. 

Under Moorhead, the Jets reached back-to-back semi-states, won three conference championships, and captured two regional championships. 

In 2025 and 2026, he was named the HBCA District 3 Coach of the Year. 

Moorhead is a third-generation basketball coach, following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Gus, and his father, Rob. His brother, Brad, is the head varsity boys basketball coach at South Dearborn.
