(Aurora, Ind.) – A South Dearborn High School track & field star has been invited to compete Down Under this summer.

Eva Quinlan has been invited to participate in the Down Under Sports Tournament on the Gold Coast of Australia July 7-17.

The sophomore has already impressed at the high school level winning a Sectional Championship in the 300 Meter Hurdles during her freshman year.

Now, she looks to make her mark at the 30th annual Down Under Sports Tournament. Each year, the event attracts thousands of athletes from over 70 countries to participate in what has been called a “mini-Olympics”. Participants also get the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to sightsee in Australia.

“I am honored to be an ambassador of not only my community and state, but also our country,” said Quinlan.
