(Rising Sun, Ind.) – Rising Sun High School’s Danyka Groover was a forced to be reckoned with on southeastern Indiana volleyball courts for four years.

Next year, she’ll be playing at the college level. Groover announced Tuesday that she is continuing her athletic and academic career at NCAA Division III Thomas More University in northern Kentucky.

“I would like to thank my family, friends, teammates, and coaches who have helped me reach my dream of playing a collegiate sport,” Groover tweeted.

Danyka was an All-Ohio River Valley Conference player in her junior and senior seasons.

In four seasons of varsity play for the Shiners, she tallied 810 kills and 265 blocks.

Last season, TMU coach John Spinney’s Saints volleyball squad had a 33-4 record and won the American Collegiate Athletic Association Championship. Their season ended deep in the NCAA D-III tournament in the regional finals.
