(Crawfordsville, Ind.) - Former East Central High School football star Samuel Ringer has earned North Coast Athletic Conference Football Defensive Athlete of the Week.

The Wabash College junior broke the conference record for the longest fumble return with a 100-yard return in Wabash's 31-0 win over St. Norbert last Saturday.

Ringer's return eclipsed the previous NCAC record of 99 yards that was set by Cisco Brooks-Church (Oberlein) in 1994.

Playing as on outside linebacker, Ringer recorded three tackles in the season opener.

Wabash is at home this Saturday against Ohio Wesleyan.
