Ryle's Maddie Scherr Named 2020 Kentucky Miss Basketball

(Union, Ky.) – A northern Kentucky basketball star has been named the best in the state.

Ryle High School senior Maddie Scherr was named the 2020 Kentucky Miss Basketball on Sunday, reports the Courier-Journal.  

Scherr, an Oregon commit, averaged 15.8 points, 7.6 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 3.1 steals per game as a senior.  A year prior, Scherr helped lead Ryle to the school’s first state championship.

Her list of accolades is impressive. Scherr is a two-time Kentucky Gatorade Player of the Year, USA Today Kentucky Player of the Year, McDonald’s All-American and a Jordan Brand Classic selection.

According to ESPN, Scherr is rated as the 19th best player in the Class of 2020.
