Rising Sun's Simpson, Mossburger Among Six to Earn ORVC Weekly Honors

(Rising Sun, Ind.) – Six Ohio River Valley Conference student-athletes have earned weekly honors.

The ORVC Report for November 27-December 2 was released on Tuesday.

Rising Sun senior Alyssa Simpson earned ORVC Girls Basketball Player of the Week. The Lady Shiners star totaled 39 points, 23 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals in two games.

The ORVC Boys Basketball Players of the Week are South Ripley’s Blaine Ward and Shawe Memorial’s Philip Kahn. Ward scored 32 points versus North Decatur, while Kahn totaled 36 points, 6 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 assists in two games. He also surpassed 1,000 career points.

In the swimming pool, three earned Performer of the Week honors. They are Max Mossburger (Rising Sun), Matthew Vaughn (Shawe) and Natalie Crawford (Southwestern).

Mossburger was the top performer in the conference in the 200 Yard Free, 500 Yard Free, 100 Yard Fly, and 200 Yard Individual Medley.
