Parade, picnic and ballpark party.
(Rising Sun, Ind.) - Rising Sun Opening Day is set for Saturday, April 25.
The event will feature a parade, picnic and ballpark party.
The full day of fun will begin at 9:30 a.m. with multiple teams rolling through town and along the riverfront with their floats, decorated vehicles and baseball-themed displays.
A pep rally and "float vote" will follow at 10:00. Teams, fans, and supporters will gather at the pavilion for judging and team float presentations.
At 10:45, a picnic will be held at the riverfront. Attendees are also encouraged to walk down Main Street to grab lunch and drinks at one of the restaurants.
Ballpark action begins at 11:30.
Baseball-themed games and events will be held at the Rising Sun ball fields at 436 South Mulberry Street. A Gear Swap will be set up near the fields for parts, tools, gear exchanges and trades.
Shaved ice and other vending options will be available.
