Mariah Denigan is only the fifth woman in U.S. history to qualify to swim the 10K.

(Walton, Ky.) – A northern Kentucky native has qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
U.S. National Team member Mariah Denigan posted a top-15 finish in the Women’s 10K at the 2024 World Aquatics Championship in Qatar on Saturday.
Denigan, a Walton native, swims at Indiana University.
She finished +00:04.30 behind the winner, Sharon Van Rouwendall (Netherlands). Denigan was positioned in 27th place at the start of lap four (of six) before coming back to post her sixth-place finish.
Denigan is the fifth woman in U.S. history to qualify for the Olympics in the 10K and is the 40th American athlete across all sports to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
