(Indianapolis, Ind.) – If he hadn’t already, Milan’s Fernando Gomez cemented his legacy as perhaps the best swimmer in school history with his performance at the IHSAA Boys Swimming & Diving State Finals.

Gomez, a senior, placed 13th in the 100 yard breaststroke at the state finals hosted at the IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis on Saturday. His 57.89 was a new school record in the event.

East Central was represented by two swimmers at the state finals. Jacob Weber, a senior, placed 20th in the 100 yard butterfly at 51.72 seconds on Saturday.

Jackson Ketcham, a junior for the AquaTrojans was 26th in the 200 yard freestyle. His Friday prelim heat time of 1:45.95 was not fast enough to make the Saturday final.
