Milan, South Ripley, Switzerland Co. Stars Earn ORVC Weekly Honors

(Vevay, Ind.) - The ORVC Report for August 29 through September 3 was released on Wednesday.

Shawe Memorial captured the ORVC Girls Golf Championship on September 3 at Butler Falls in Hanover. Kira Wells was the round medalist, carding an 84. Fellow Lady Hilltoppers Yolett Perez, Gia Craig and Bailey Kilgore placed second through fourth, making the All-Conference Team (see below).

Switzerland County’s Cooper Todd was named the ORVC Boys Soccer Player of the Week after scoring six goals in three matches for the undefeated Pacers.

The ORVC Girls Soccer Player of the Week went to South Ripley’s Mariah Brison. The Lady Raiders star scored three times in two matches.

For the third week in a row, Milan cross country star Ben Riehle is the ORVC Boys Runner of the Week. Riehle placed first (18:52) at the Lawrenceburg Quad Meet on August 30 and the Ripley County Meet (17:08) on September 1.

South Ripley’s Shelby Bastin is the ORVC Girls Runner of the Week. Bastin placed first at the Lawrenceburg Quad Meet (23:13.5), sixth at the Ripley County Meet (21:52.9), and 16th at the East Central Invitational (22:04.9).

The ORVC Volleyball Player of the Week is Jillian Gregory. The Switzerland County star totaled 36 kills, 14 blocks, 11 aces, 17 digs, and 95 percent serve in three matches.
