(Bright, Ind.) - Dearborn County native Luke Shelton is no stranger to competing at one of the most prestigious amateur motocross events in the country.
For a third straight year, Shelton punched his ticket to Loretta Lynn's National MX in Tennessee.
Shelton qualified for the event by placing 2nd at a qualifier in Chillicothe, Ohio.
Last year, Shelton placed 27th in the 65cc (7-9) Limited and 27th in the 65cc (7-9) classes. The year prior, he finished 21st in the Micro 3 (7-8) Limited class.
This year, Shelton will compete in the 65 (10-11) limited.
The Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn Ranch takes place July 29-August 3.
