Six area girls soccer teams advanced to the sectional championship, while three volleyball teams captured conference championships.

GIRLS SOCCER

Class 3A Sectional 12 at Greenfield-Central - Semifinals 

Mt. Vernon (Fortville) 5, Greenfield-Central 1 

East Central 9, Shelbyville 0

*East Central will take on Mt. Vernon (Fortville) in the sectional championship on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.

 

Class 2A Sectional 28 at Lawrenceburg - Semifinals

South Dearborn 9, Rushville 1 

Lawrenceburg 8, Franklin County 0 

*South Dearborn and Lawrenceburg will square off in the sectional championship on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.

 

Class 2A Sectional 27 at Beech Grove - Semifinals

Cathedral 9, Beech Grove 0 

Batesville 9, Herron 0 

*Batesville will play Cathedral in the sectional championship on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.

 

Class 1A Sectional 45 at Rising Sun - Semifinals 

Switzerland County 2, Oldenburg Academy 1 

  • Mackenzie Taylor, Avy Burkholder (SC): goal each 

Milan 3, Rising Sun 1 

*Switzerland County and Milan will play for the sectional championship on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.

 

VOLLEYBALL

East Central 3, Greensburg 2 (25-14, 25-20, 20-25, 16-25, 15-11) - The Trojans are Co-EIAC Champions (6-1 in EIAC).

Lawrenceburg 3, Batesville 0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-19) - The Tigers improve to 20-5 overall and 6-1 in the EIAC (Co-Champs).
