IHSAA 4A Sectional 14 at East Central – Semi-Finals

Columbus East 2, Bloomington South 1

Columbus North 13, East Central 0 – Columbus North no-hit East Central, ending the Trojans’ season.

 

IHSAA 3A Sectional 29 at South Dearborn – First Round

South Dearborn 5, Franklin County 3

Rushville 1, Batesville 0

 

 

SOFTBALL

 

IHSAA 3A Sectional 29 at Madison Consolidated – Championship

South Dearborn 9, Greensburg 0 – South Dearborn is the sectional champion. It is their first sectional title since 2014. The Knights (22-8) advance to the IHSAA 3A Regional to play Silver Creek (11-9) on Tuesday, May 28.

 

IHSAA 2A Sectional 45 at Switzerland County – Championship

Switzerland County 12, Southwestern 2 – Switz wins the sectional championship. The Pacers (16-7) move on to the IHSAA 2A Regional where they will play against Paoli (10-12) on Tuesday, May 28.

IHSAA 4A Sectional 14 at East Central – Championship

Columbus East 5, Columbus North 3

 

IHSAA 3A Sectional 29 at South Dearborn – Championship

South Dearborn 16, Madison 1 – South Dearborn wins the sectional championship, the Knights’ first since 2015. SD (16-6) advances to the 3A Regional where they will play against Silver Creek (21-6) at Evansville Bosse on Saturday, June 1.

 

IHSAA 1A Section 60 at Jac-Cen-Del

Semi-Final – Oldenburg Academy 3, Hauser 2

Semi-Final – Rising Sun 8, South Decatur 0 – Landon Cole led Rising Sun’s offense with a home run, 3 RBI and 2 runs. Payton Bell added 2 hits and 2 RBI. Steven Jimenez struck out 14 hitters in a 2-hit, 7-inning performance on the mound.

Championship – Rising Sun 6, Oldenburg Academy 0 – Rising Sun becomes the sectional champion for the second time in three seasons. Brayden Bush starred with a home run and a triple for 3 RBI and 2 runs scored. He also earned the pitching win by striking out 14 hitters in 6.1 innings with just 3 hits and 3 walks surrendered. The Shiners (18-6) will play against Shakamak (13-7) in the 1A Regional at Morristown on Saturday, June 1.
