FRIDAY, APRIL 27

BASEBALL

Franklin County 10, South Dearborn 0 – Wildcat pitcher Alex Bischoff pitched a 6.0 inning no-hitter for FC. Bischoff had 9 Ks while giving up three walks. Augustus Runyon posted a 2-for-3, 3 RBI, 1 run scored day for Franklin County.

Union County 11, Batesville 1 - Trey Peters, Trey Heidlage, and Sam Voegele each managed one hit to lead the Bulldogs.

Rising Sun 12, Milan 0 – Bradon Bush starred for Rising Sun. In addition to collecting 2 RBI with the bat, he pitched 6.0 innings with 15 strikeouts and 2 walks allowed. Kameron Montgomery was 2-for-5 with a double, 3 RBI, and a run scored for Rising Sun. Colby Ritter also knocked in a pair of runs.

South Ripley 14, Southwestern 0 – Jackson Cornett mashed in going 4-for-4 with a home run, a double, 4 RBI and 4 runs scored. Chad Turner was 2-for-4 with 4 RBI and a run scored. Avery Halcomb got the win as South Ripley’s starting pitcher, going 5.0 innings with 8 strikeouts, a walk, and 2 hits.

Trinity Lutheran 8, Jac-Cen-Del 4 – JCD’s Logan Drockelman was 2-for-4 with 2 RBI.

 

BOYS GOLF

Ripley County Championship

Batesville took the title of county champs at the Ripley County Golf Tournament on Friday. The Bulldogs finished with a top-five team score of 172, followed by Milan’s 202 and Jac-Cen-Del’s 246. Batesville’s Tristian Lampert was the meet medalist with a 9-hole round of 37.

 

SOFTBALL

Franklin County 3, Knightstown 1 – Franklin County starter Kamryn McCool just one hit to Knightstown in seven innings of work. McCool gave up one unearned run on one hit, two walks, and thirteen strikeouts to improve her record to 6-1 this season. She also went 2-for-3 at the plate.

Rising Sun 15, Milan 4 – Rising Sun charged to the win with Abby Wallace going 3-for-5 with 3 RBI and 2 runs scored. Shiners putting up 2 RBI each included Caroline Stapleton, Tyrrah Miller, Lucy Phelps, and Lindsay Montgomery. Shiners pitcher Sydney Pitts went 7.0 innings with 7 Ks, no walks, 6 hits and 3 earned runs allowed. Milan’s Taryn Cline was 3-for-3 with 2 RBI.

TRACK & FIELD

East Central’s boys and girls won on their home track at the East Central Invitational on Friday.  In the five-team girls competition, EC had 201 points, followed by Franklin County’s 102. In the boys division, EC had 179.5 points while Franklin County was second again with 135.5. East Central’s girls 4x100 meter relay team of Brianna Lobenstein, Taylor Messmore, Audrey Griffin and Eva Grimm posted a new meet record with a time of 50.57 seconds. The 4x400 meter girls team from EC – Eva Grimm, Taylor Messmore, Emma Fey, and Abigail Bittner - also set a meet record with 4:08.96. SATURDAY, APRIL 28

BASEBALL

Madison 9, South Dearborn 1 – SD’s Jace Leonard posted two hits.

Batesville 15, North Decatur 5 – Trey Peters and Brayden Worthington each had 2 hits and 3 RBI for Batesville. Joe Bohman and Sam Voegele both knocked in two runs.

Rushville 3, South Ripley 1 – Bryer Franklin knocked in South Ripley’s only run of the game by reaching on an error. The Raiders’ Brady Linkel pitched well in 6.0 innings with 5 Ks, 2 walks, and 7 hits allowed.

Jac-Cen-Del 10, North Decatur 4 – Morgen Carroll dominated on the mound by striking out 15 in 7.0 innings. She walked just two and gave up 3 hits and only one earned run. JCD’s Baylee Dwenger was 1-for-4 with 3 RBI and a run scored. Shelby Gorth added 2 RBI with a hit.
