INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association has announced their 2026 Academic All-State Team.
Five local players who played for teams in the EIAC and ORVC earned Academic All-State honors. They are:
- Noah Weigel, Batesville
- John Meyer, Greensburg
- Mason Hamlett, South Dearborn
- Brady Cook, Southwestern (Hanover)
- Braxton Lewis, Southwestern (Hanover)
To be considered for Academic All-State, individuals must be a senior and a member of their high school team in good standing. There are three ways that a player can be selected for the team:
- if a player is a valedictorian and salutatorian then they automatically qualify for the team;
- if a player has a GPA of 4.000 or higher (on a 4-point scale), then they automatically qualify for the team;
- If a player is not a valedictorian / salutatorian or doesn't have a GPA of 4.000 or higher, then we also have a formula that uses SAT scores and GPA to calculate an aggregate score....if that aggregate score is 8.000 or higher, then they automatically qualify for the team.
